Each month we round up five of the most exciting opportunities currently available for young people living on the Isle of Wight, whether that’s from Brave Island or from other organisations we think you should get involved with! Check out our top picks for November below.

Join us to celebrate the last Brave Island Zine of the year
Over the course of the 2026 we’ve released a new Zine every few months. Each edition is filled with an array of incredible artwork created by our own community of young people on the Isle of Wight. Across each of the themes, we saw poetry, paintings, collage, articles, digital art, interviews and more. Each volume of the Brave Island Zine was masterfully edited by local photographer, editor of Earth Spirit Magazine and former Brave Island Young Creative of the Month, Jasmine Metta Truman.
All three of the previous Brave Island Zines can be seen right here on our blog:
Volume 4 – Can You Hear Us? Launches on Saturday 7th November at Ventnor Exchange. You can expect an evening of live music, good company and a celebration of the Island’s incredibly talented young people, all hosted by the talented Ventnor music duo Daysi and Luca.
You don’t need tickets to attend, and it’s FREE entry! But if you’d like to sign up to participate in the open mic, let us know using the form on this page.

Help shape the future of Sandown
In case you hadn’t heard, earlier this year Sandown applied to the first UK Town of Culture competition. And rather excitingly, it’s been shortlisted! If successful, Sandown could be awarded £3 Million and be Crowned the UKs Town of Culture in 2028.
The group leading the application have been named “The Sandown Tide Turners” and have already begun developing plans for what they’d do if they won, including interactive science, live performances, and local events. However, they are also looking to hear why it matters to the people who live, work, study, visit and spend time in Sandown.
If you’d like to share your thoughts and be a part of Sandown’s bid for Town of Culture, click here to complete the Tide Turners Survey.
