Three young filmmakers at the Picture the Music competition awards and screening

News: Watch the Finalist’s Videos from Picture the Music 2023

Back in the summer we put a call out to aspiring filmmakers for the Picture the Music competition. We asked for a music video to be made to one of five tracks available which were submitted by some brilliant local musicians. There was a top prize of £850 to be spent on filming equipment of your choice, and £400 for the top under 18 filmmaker!

The screening of the shortlisted films was held at Ventnor Arts Club on Thursday 21st December, which saw the four finalists presented with The Peter Cramp Awards, dedicated to one of the founders of Ventnor Film Society.

Ruben Chiverton took home the top prize for his video to ‘Alter’ by Jack Stockman, and Darcy Homan received the top under 18 award for her video to ‘Back and Forth’ by Cara Goodrem. The two runners-up, Erin Avey and Mollie-Louise Scriver, both set their videos to ‘Retromania’ by The Optimists and each received a year’s membership to Ventnor Arts Club, where they can watch a large variety of independent films.

You can watch the four finalist’s videos here:
