Brave Island is really excited to have teamed up with a range of organisations to offer placements, which are perfect if you’re looking to learn new skills and improve your CV.
The Free Fringe Coordinator Placement is hosted by Ventnor Fringe. We’re looking for a young person wanting to gain some experience working behind the scenes on a professional event, where you will be helping to coordinate the free events that take place across the festival. These events include music performances on The Bandstand in Ventnor Park as well as busking throughout the town, free circus shows and other street performances, and art exhibitions and installations.
Ventnor Fringe is the Island’s largest arts festival, transforming the town with a whole host of boutique venues and pop-up bars. Running for 10 days between Friday 18th and Sunday 27th July, there’s over 100 different shows with a huge mix of theatre, comedy, music, circus, cabaret and exhibitions.
What’s involved?
- Meeting and greeting artists
- Helping artists with their gear where required
- Supporting the technician on The Bandstand where required
- Working with the Free Fringe Manager to ensure the events run smoothly and to time

- Have good people skills and can communicate clearly

Practical info: This placement is open to those aged 18-25. It is ten days long, and you will receive £50/day to cover your expenses like food and travel. This placement is based in Ventnor.
