Join Isle of Wight actor and screenwriter Joe Bone (Baby Reindeer, The Vanishing, Beyond Paradise) for an open and honest conversation about building a sustainable career in the arts. Drawing on his experience across theatre, film, and television, Joe will share insights on how to position yourself for opportunities, treat your creative work as a business, and navigate the realities of the industry with resilience and purpose.
Joe’s credits include his solo theatre work ‘Bane’ which he took to Brighton Fringe and Edinburgh Fringe Festival where he ran sell out shows to critical acclaim, then touring a series of ‘Bane’ shows globally from 2008-2017. He was signed by United Agents in 2012, kick-starting his TV and film career, acting on-screen in films and series such as Six Minutes to Midnight, Tom and Jerry the Movie, and the Netflix smash-hit Baby Reindeer. Joe’s also had a number of writing credits since 2019 including thriller The Vanishing, starring Peter Mullan and Gerard Butler.
This is a great opportunity for early-career creatives and anyone curious about the crossover between stage and screen as Joe will be able to share about the realities of the industry, the economics of theatre, and how a grounding in live performance can strengthen craft and open doors across different mediums. Above all, Joe aims to offer an honest and encouraging insight into the resilience, self-awareness and practical strategies needed to thrive as a writer and performer working across stage and screen.
