Interested in a career in theatre? We’ve organised a special free visit to TheatreCraft in London, an annual event which takes place at the Royal Opera House and in theatres across the West End, where you can chat with with industry professionals, take part in workshops, and discover all sorts of off-stage roles. Find out more about the event here.
There will be time for you to explore the main Marketplace where there will be over 70 exhibitors including drama schools, theatres, and other industry employers. Discover what they’re looking for, learn about upcoming opportunities, and gain insights into various theatre careers. It’s like a careers fair or university open day but just for careers in theatre.
We’ll also be taking part in two workshops at the Royal Opera House, one about Stage Management where we’ll discover the different roles in their stage management team and how they work with other departments to make their shows happen. Followed by a set painting workshop where we’ll learn about the different skills needed to master the techniques to create finishes and effects with paint and other materials that create the worlds on their stages.
If you are at school or college, please speak to your teacher about attending this opportunity as it is a great way to find out about further education and training opportunities, so they may be able to allow you to miss a day to attend – but please make sure it is approved!
