Join Fine Artist Trudie Wilson for a conversation about the steps she has taken to build her practice and career as an independent artist on the Isle of Wight. Trudie is an interdisciplinary artist whose work ranges from sculpture and drawing through to digital media and film, often blurring the edges between disciplines.
From developing her landscape-led work to securing exhibitions, residencies and commissions, Trudie will share how she has made her job sustainable. She will also offer a behind-the-scenes glimpse into her studio, showing how she experiments with locally gathered sediments, handmade pigments and works in progress that reveal her day-to-day creative process.
This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in a career as a visual artist, or just wanting to find out more about how you can work as a creative on the Island.
Our Coffee & Chat opportunities are in collaboration with the Isle of Wight Creative Network. Each month, along with up to a small group, you have the chance to meet with a different industry professional and find out about their job, how they got to where they are today, or ask for any advice they have to offer.
