We’ve got a challenge for you! Race against the clock to make a short film in just 48 hours, including planning, filming, and editing. Think you can do it? You’ll be working with Bruce Webb, professional Director and Producer with over 20 years experience in the film and TV industry to help you create your film.
You’ll work as a team to make the film, so you’ll need to work together to share different skills. We’ll need everything from directors and actors to camera operators and editors so get involved whether you have a role in mind or want to give everything a go. Working with Bruce Webb means that you don’t need any prior experience in any part of the filmmaking process, you’ll learn new skills every step of the way and have all the equipment provided.
The 48 hours will look like this: you’ll meet on Friday 17th February at Independent Arts on Newport High Street, from 5-8pm, to plan your film. This is where you’ll find out the mystery filming location and choose your film’s genre, as well as select a key prop and line to include in the film. On Saturday 18th you’ll meet at the filming location and shoot your entire film, then on Sunday 19th you’ll edit the film at Ventnor Exchange ready for the screening in the evening.
Brave Island would like to thank BFI Film Academy South West for funding this opportunity.
