Dimbola Museum & Galleries are opening a new exhibition of Jimi Hendrix at the 1970 Isle of Wight Festival, and to celebrate, they’re offering the chance for a young artist to have their work featured in the exhibition and win two tickets to the Isle of Wight Festival!
Dimbola are looking for artists aged 14-25 to submit original artwork inspired by Jimi Hendrix to be featured in the exhibiton. Artwork might be inspired by Jimi Hendrix himself, his costume, his guitar or the songs he performed at the Isle of Wight Festival in 1970, and may take the form of a painting/print, mosaic or sculpture using any medium from acrylic paint to fabric and everything in between.
The winning piece will be selected by Isle of Wight Festival organisers John Giddings and Ray Foulk at the exhibition opening event on Tuesday 26th May. The winning artist will then have their artwork displayed as part of the exhibition, and be awarded two Isle of Wight Festival tickets!
