Thinking about going to drama school? We’re hosting an online Q&A to answer all your questions about how to decide on a school and course, when to apply and how the audition process works, as well as an insight into what life at drama school is like.
This free session will be hosted by Simon Lyshon, an actor and theatre-maker who trained at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London. Simon now works as a visiting lecturer at Royal Central and as part of this he has served as part of the audition panel for the BA Acting course for 6 years.
Drama schools specialise in a more vocational, practical training than conventional Universities for those interested in working in theatre, film and TV. Most offer acting training but some also provide a wide range of courses in other related specialisms like creative writing, technical theatre, costume making, lighting design etc. Famous examples include RADA, LAMDA, Royal Central School of Speech & Drama, Guildhall, East 15, Mountview and Bristol Old Vic. This opportunity is ideal for anyone who has applied to drama school or is thinking about doing so in the future. Simon will discuss some of the key stages in applying and you’ll also have the chance to ask any questions you might have.
