Looking to learn a new unusual skill? For our monthly skills workshop in August we’ve teamed up with Glory Art Glass to run a special glass making workshop exclusively for Brave Island members!
You will learn how to gather 1,150c hot molten glass from a furnace and choose your own colours to apply and create patterns. You’ll be taught how to hand sculpt the glass with traditional tools and techniques to create a paperweight, yours to keep.
This workshop is going to be hot! Please wear something cool, natural fibres that won’t melt, long sleeves and trousers if possible. Kevlar sleeves and safety glasses are provided. Your work will need to cool down over night, and will be ready for collection the next day so you can keep your creations.
Practical info: This workshop takes place at Glory Art Glass in Sandown. To apply for this opportunity, please tell us why you would like to take part. This opportunity is open to those aged 16-25.
