Do you have an interest in projection, lighting, digital art or animation? This opportunity could be perfect for you! Julian from Light Art Creatives is creating a light show to be displayed during Christmas event Merry & Bright and we’ve organised for a small group from Brave Island to come along and learn how something like this comes together.
Various Island Schools and youth groups have already created designs and Julian will be turning these into digital art to be projected onto St Thomas’ Church in Ryde on Friday 8th December.
You will be able to learn from Julian as together, you work through the set up process, including finding the right spot for and calibrating the projector, creating a digital map of the church and adding in the digital artwork. As it gets dark you will also begin testing the projections and making adjustments for environmental factors such as street lighting in the vicinity.
If you want to pursue a career in digital art, lighting or projection this could be a great starting point for you on your journey. If you would like to join us on the day and see the projection process happen, sign up below and we will be in touch with more details soon.
Practical info: This opportunity will be taking place at St Thomas’ Rest Gardens in Ryde, due to the nature of the projection being on the outside of a building you will be standing outside for the duration so please bring warm clothes.
Opportunity Date & Time: Thursday 7th December, 3pm – 5pm.
