For our next monthly skills workshop we’ve teamed up with internationally acclaimed circus company Pirates of the Carabina to host their Learn to Fly workshop. Experience the sensation of flying on the Aerial circus rig, by learning simple tricks and shapes on Aerial Silks & Hoop. Whether you’re totally new to circus, or an Olympic gymnast, a class will limber you up and introduce you to some of the fundamentals of Aerial.

Pirates of the Carabina are on the Island for five days in the Easter Holidays, performing their outdoor circus show Pirate Taxi. Taking place in, on and around an old-school London Taxi, Pirate Taxi includes original live music, humour, a mechanically ingenious set, and extraordinary aerial performance. The workshop will be taking place after one of their shows, so please let us know if you want to watch the performance beforehand so we can book your ticket!

This workshop is a great opportunity for anyone wanting to try out a completely new skill and have some fun, or for anyone wanting to build on the aerial skills they already have with an exciting circus company who have created award-winning productions.

Practical info: This free workshop takes place at The Bay CE School’s main sports hall in Sandown, we can help cover your bus fare if needed. To apply, please tell us why you would like to take part, as well as if you’ve had any previous experience at all. Please also let us know if you would like to watch the show before the workshop which starts at 1pm so we can book your ticket.

Opportunity Date & Time: Friday 12th April, 3.30pm – 4.45pm.
