The Arena Production Assistant Placement is hosted by Ventnor Exchange. We’re looking for a young person wanting to gain some experience working behind the scenes on a professional event, where you will be supporting a Stage Manager to help run the Ventnor Exchange Arena during it’s time in Sandown this October.
The Ventnor Exchange Arena is a big pink circus tent going on tour as part of CAN YOU HEAR US? – a 6 week celebration of Island creativity and culture. In October, the Arena will be at Sandham Gardens in Sandown from Friday 9th – Saturday 24th October 2026. While it’s there, it will host the Brave Island Festival, as well as a whole host of other performances across circus, dance, theatre and music.
What’s involved?
- Helping shows during their get in and get out (moving and organising scenery, props etc)
- Learning and operating some basic tech like lights and sound cues
- Meeting and greeting artists
- Helping to facilitate the stewards who scan tickets for events, seat audience members, and make sure the show runs smoothly with no interruptions

- Have good people skills and can communicate clearly in order to ensure the shows run smoothly
- Can work well under pressure
- Have an interest in learning about how festivals or events work
