Each month we round up five of the most exciting opportunities currently available for young people living on the Isle of Wight, whether that’s from Brave Island or from other organisations we think you should get involved with! Check out our top picks for January below.
Join the IW Story Festival Board of Trustees
The trustees of the IW Story Festival would love for young people have a say in the future of its successful festival (which takes place every February half term) and schools programme (which takes place in June), so are looking for a young person (aged 18-25) to join their board.
As a trustee, you will get to help shape the future strategy of the charity, ensuring it is relevant to children and young people living on the Isle of Wight today. Experience as a trustee is not needed, they are just looking for someone who is passionate about young people on the Isle of Wight having access to creativity and stories of all kinds. It might be a good opportunity for someone interested in a career in the creative sector to gain some experience.
Trustees meet in the evening approximately every two months, in central Newport. The position is voluntary, but reasonable expenses (e.g. for travel) can be paid.
You can find out more, without any commitment, by emailing iwstoryfesttrustees@gmail.com
