BFI NETWORK: Short Film Fund
The BFI (British Film Institute) is currently accepting applications for their Short Film Fund.
The fund awards £5,000 – £25,000 to producer and director/writer-director teams to help with the production of scripted films of up to 15 minutes, in either live action, animation or immersive. This highly competitive fund opens once per year and supports any genre within fiction.
Filmmaking teams with a director based in England can apply. The deadline for submissions is 11am on 18 March 2026. Click here to find out more.

Social Media Internship at Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust
The Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust is a national charity that takes young people aged 8-24 sailing and on outdoor adventures to inspire them to believe in a brighter future living through and beyond cancer.
The trust is now recruiting a paid social media intern for a three-month internship during their peak trip season between June -September.

Our next coffee & chat session is with designer Philip Crewe, join him on the 13th March at Department in Ryde for an informal chat about craft and design, and combining paid work with a creative practice.

Three Rivers DJ Competition
The Three Rivers Music Festival is inviting DJs to apply for a chance to perform on The Woodland Stage at the festival at the end of May this year.
To enter, DJs should create a 15-minute mix by the 15th March. Six finalists will be selected from the submissions and invited to compete in a live final on April 4 at Quay Arts, with free entry for attendees. The event will feature full production including a Funktion-One sound system, bespoke decor from the festival team, and compere Bobbin Dixon.

Access NFTS is an event run by the National Film and Television School, coming to Newport this month! Whilst the school itself offers postgraduate courses in all aspects of filmmaking, this events promises to offer a deeper insight and provide practical skills transferable to a career within the film, TV and games industry.
