Creative Events Assistant Breakthrough Placement
This is a 6-month paid placement working with New Carnival as a Creative Events Assistant. You will work in a team to provide support for the New Carnival core staff as they deliver their annual events and shorter-term project work/commissions. New Carnival are a small non-profit organisation based in Ryde who deliver carnival-based art projects in their local community.

Design Workshops for Heritage Open Day Event
Join Lauren from Studio Wren to design a map and print media for Newport Minster’s Heritage Open Day event. This is a great opportunity to work with an amazing local artist, learn new creative skills and contribute to a major local event. Museum Skills Workshop
Ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes at a museum? We’ve teamed up with the Isle of Wight Steam Railway to provide a workshop about caring for and conserving items in the museum collection, a job that helps to keep our heritage alive. This opportunity is great for anyone interested in a career in conservation or heritage, or if you are interested in the inner workings of museums. This will leave you with new skills that you can take to a future career or just have fun learning something new for the day!

Isle of Wight Open Studios
Open Studios 2024 celebrates the vibrant creativity of Isle of Wight artists over 17 days from Friday 23rd August to Sunday 8th September 2024. Artists can select what dates/times they will open their studios during this period but generally opening times will be 11am-5pm (unless otherwise specified in artists ‘about’ sections of their web profile pages) and they’re all completely FREE to visit! This is a great opportunity to explore lots of art and discover new artists across the Island.

Isle of Wight Young Artist Award 2024
The Isle of Wight Young Artist Award is back! Brave Island are super excited to team up with Quay Arts to bring the third instalment of this competition following the success of the last two years’ exhibitions. Applications are now open to submit your artwork until the 24th September, shortlisted artists will have their work exhibited and be invited to a special launch event for the month-long exhibition where the winner will be announced.
