We’ve found a great job to get you started in your creative career, Independent Arts is looking for a Creative Projects Assistant to join their team! This is a 6-month work placement where you’ll receive work readiness training, assist with preparing workshops, and gain valuable skills, all while working in their friendly space in Newport. Get paid £10.25/hr, work 4 days a week, and enjoy a dynamic role for 6 months, starting in early October.

Have you recently graduated from University and returned to the Isle of Wight? Currently studying on the Island or trying to find roots into the creative industries but don’t know where to start? The IW Creative Network is offering one year’s free membership to 18-30 year olds, and a 2 hour 1-1 session with one of their creative advisors. The IW Creative Network is a programme a bit like Brave Island but for artists, makers and creative professionals of all ages and stages of their career, wanting to develop their business and creative skills on the Isle of Wight.

Arts Marketing Coordinator Job at New Theatre Royal and Kino Kult Portsmouth
Like the sound of the job at Independent Arts but looking for a different role? This is also a 6-month paid work placement but with New Theatre Royal and Kino Kult in Portsmouth. You’ll be working as an Arts Marketing Coordinator across the two organisations, assisting with marketing campaigns and content creation, whilst working 4 days a week above minimum wage and gaining valuable employment skills.

Learn: How to Start a Career in Museums
Join Brave Island to go behind the scenes at the Isle of Wight Steam Railway and discover the types of jobs and careers involved in running a historic railway. We’ll be looking at the different roles involved in restoring trains, including carpentry, metal work and engineering, and talking to an Object Conservationist about their work in the museum. Whether you’re particularly interested in jobs in these fields, would like to learn more about them, or just fancy a day out then sign up to come along.

Join the Isle of Wight Youth Trust’s Taskforce
The Isle of Wight Youth Trust are hosting an open evening for anyone aged 12-25 interested in joining their Youth Taskforce. The Taskforce are a group of volunteers representing the voices of young people on the Isle of Wight, dedicated to championing causes that matter to young people including mental health and wellbeing. This is a great chance to make a difference in your community, build your self-esteem and confidence, and even boost your CV! Joining the Taskforce is also great for your UCAS application, or DofE award.
