We’re offering two free tickets for you to review ‘Ryde Boy’, a new gig-theatre play by Horsebox Theatre at Department, Ryde from the 22nd-25th March. The play fuses music, spoken word and theatre and is based around a group of lads from Ryde who have lost a friend.
This run of ‘Ryde Boy’ has now completely sold out so this is a great chance to see the show if you missed out on tickets! The Barn space in the building will be transformed into a version of the King Lud, a pub in Ryde, with the audience immersed in the world of the pub! The play follows the story of a group of lads who gather every year in the King Lud to remember their friend Danny. They have all drifted apart since his death and it is unlikely they will meet like this again.
“I’m a ‘Ryde Boy’.
Football weekenders
Followed by drunken benders
As kids we’d hang out down the railway tracks
Sipping on bottles of Frosty Jacks.”
