Join us to go behind the scenes at the Isle of Wight Steam Railway and discover the types of jobs and careers involved in running a historic railway. We’ll be looking at the different roles involved in restoring trains, including carpentry, metal work and engineering, and talking to an Object Conservationist about their work in the museum.
Of course there will also be the chance to explore the exhibits, train workshops, and ride a train! Whether you’re particularly interested in jobs in these fields, would like to learn more about them, or just fancy a day out then sign up to come along.
Practical info: To apply, please tell us why you would like to take part. This opportunity is completely free, we can even help cover your transport costs or organise transport if needed, just let us know in your application.
Opportunity Date & Time: Saturday 23rd September, 9.30am – 1.45pm.
