Win 2 IW festival tickets in this Jimi Hendrix Artwork competition
Brave Island is working in collaboration with Dimbola Museum to run a competition around their Jimi Hendrix exhibition, which opens at Dimbola on May 26th.
We’re looking for a piece of work to be displayed as part of the exhibition at Dimbola, with the shortlisted entries to be judged by IW Festival’s Ray Foulk and John Giddings. The winner will have their Artwork on display for the duration of the exhibition, and also receive 2 tickets to Isle of Wight Festival 2026.

Busking at Ventnor Fringe

Try out circus skills at Sandown’s new Youth Hub, LINK
Brave Island have teamed up with The Bay Youth project and Wild Woods Workshops & Events to bring an exclusive Circus Skills workshop to LINK, Sandown’s brand-new Youth Centre!
During the workshop, you’ll have the opportunity to try out Juggling, plate spinning, poi, staff and even Aerial skills. Alongside the workshop itself, you’ll also be able to chat to Brave Island team members Megan and Kai about the exciting Brave Island opportunities coming up this year, such as The Brave Island Festival this October.

Paid Work placement at Carisbrooke Castle Museum
Brave Island have just launched a six month work placement opportunity hosted by Carisbrooke Castle Museum. We’re looking for a young person interested in learning more about working within a museum. The placement holder will learn about the different roles involved in running a small museum with a focus on digital storytelling and collections.
This placement is open to ages 18-25. It’s one day per week for 6 months, and you will be paid a stipend of £100/day. Find out more and apply today by clicking here.

Admin & Comms Assistant Role with Creative Island
Creative Island is the Cultural Development Agency for the Isle of Wight, they work with lots of different creative and heritage organisations to support them and in turn support the quality of life for all those who live on the Island. They are hiring for a part-time Admin & Comms Assistant to support the organisation through a busy period with the delivery of CAN YOU HEAR US? (a 6 week event in the Autumn).
- 18 hours per week
- £25,000 pro rata based on 37.5 hours a week from June – December 2026
- Responsible to their Communications Manager
- Working from their base at Building 41 in Cowes
